Who qualifies to take part in the HERO program?

A HERO is any active-duty military or veteran, plus first responders. A first responder is defined as an individual with specific training to assist at the scene of an emergency. By profession these would primarily be defined as Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technician’s.

How do I sign up for the HERO program?

Eligible participants should visit the Lucky North Rewards desk with the appropriate documentation to verify their military or first responder status. This is open to existing and new rewards program members.

What qualifies as required documentation to verify my status?

Guests can use the following to verify Military status:

Active-duty military, reserves, National Guard and retiree ID cards
Department of Veterans Affairs ID card
Form DD-214 Certificate of Release
A valid*, state issued ID or driver’s license with military/veteran designation

Guests can use the following documents to verify first responder status

EMTs and paramedics can present a valid* state-issued license, a certification issued within the past 48 months or a valid* ID Card with their name and title on it.
Firefighters can use a valid* ID card with their name and title on it, a certification issued within the past 48 months or a valid* membership card.
Law enforcement officers can use a valid* ID card that states their name and title or a certification issued within the past 48 months.

*Valid is defined as an original copy that is not expired.

Can I use my regular Lucky North card and HERO card?

Yes, you can use both cards. They both will register play for your one singular Lucky North Rewards account.

Does having a HERO card change my tier status?

For players that are Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond or Black Diamond, your tier status and benefits do not change. The HERO designation is an added benefit.

If you were a Ruby player or opened a new account when receiving HERO designation, as a HERO member you will automatically be upgraded to a permanent Emerald tier status.

Terms & Conditions

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be a member of the Mardi Gras Casino & Resort Lucky North^® Rewards program to participate in events and promotions. Any participant visiting Mardi Gras Casino & Resort will be eligible to receive a Lucky North^® Rewards Membership. Participants must provide a valid photo ID to become a Lucky North^® Rewards Member.
Valid IDs include Driver’s License, State DMV issued Photo ID, Military ID, Passport, Resident Alien Card (Green Card) bearing the same name as the membership cardholder and must be current and not expired · Memberships are provided free of charge.
To be eligible to participate in any promotional events on or off-site, participants must not be on the State or Casino’s self-exclusion, banned, or trespassed list. If a self-excluded person is identified, he or she will be handled in accordance with the Casino’s Policy.
The following are not eligible to participate:Persons under the age of 21.
Employees or Contractors of Mardi Gras Casino & Resort and Tri-State Concessions Inc.
Any agency involved in this promotion.
Bonus Points from events like multipliers or giveaways, and won points from Free Play are not counted in tier status. Tier Status is determined by earned base points only.
Tier Benefit earning periods are a calendar year from January 1 to December 31. Tier status is valid for the remainder of the earning period in which your points are earned and for the subsequent calendar year.
Program tier benefits are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
It is the cardholder’s responsibility to ensure that their card is properly inserted into the card reader on the slot machines before play begins. Improper insertion may result in the loss of points or eligibility which otherwise would be earned.
If your Lucky North^® Rewards Card shows no play activity for a 180 day period, your points, and any offers, will expire and be forfeited.
Membership in Mardi Gras Casino & Resort Is Lucky North^® Rewards and/or Racer’s Edge Rewards and benefits earned by members are non-transferable. One card per person.
The Lucky North^® Rewards Card and proper valid ID must be presented in person at the Lucky North^® Rewards desk for all transactions including but not limited to: redeeming points, redeeming coupons, or obtaining entries for drawings. The name and birth date must match the information listed on the account.
Lucky North^® Rewards and/or Racer’s Edge Rewards Members may not distribute their card to other players. Points may not be accrued to your account by other players. Misuse of the card will result in cancellation of your membership and forfeiture of all points and privileges.
In the event a member’s card is lost or stolen, it is the member’s responsibility to notify a Lucky North^® Rewards Representative. Mardi Gras Casino & Resort is not responsible for misuse of lost or stolen cards, comps, or coupons.
Mardi Gras Casino & Resort reserves the right to change or cancel Lucky North^® Rewards or any membership at any time.
A participating Lucky North^® Rewards member may be removed from Mardi Gras Casino & Resort’s Lucky North^® Rewards and/or Racer’s Edge Rewards upon request of the player or the casino. The player will be asked to sign and submit subsequent release form along with copies of proper identification, to ensure that the player or the casino is requesting removal from Lucky North^® Rewards. Also, all Lucky North^® Rewards and/or Racer’s Edge Rewards Cards issued must be returned.
The licensed racetrack may use the information obtained through registration and membership without compensation to the participant.
Your personal information obtained through Lucky North^® Rewards and/or Racer’s Edge Rewards will never be sold or shared with entities external to Mardi Gras Casino & Resort.
Use of membership card indicates acceptance of Mardi Gras Casino & Resort’s Lucky North^® Rewards and/or Racer’s Edge Rewards Membership Rules and Regulations.
Members may be subject to additional or revised Rules and Regulations.
Mardi Gras Casino & Resort reserves the right to amend any rules or cancel any promotion at any time.
Mardi Gras Casino & Resort is entitled to interpret these rules as needed and its decisions are final.
