How to Play 4 Card Poker WV Style

Print

Looking for the dizzy excitement of wagers and bonuses? Come to Mardi Gras Casino & Resort for the hottest 4-Card poker in WV. We offer $5 or $10 minimum tables with $300 maximum bet.

When you play 4-Card Poker, you are playing against the dealer along with an optional side bet. Your objective is to form a four-card hand higher than, or equal in rank to the dealer's hand. You use your best four out of five cards dealt and the dealer uses his best four out of six cards.

You must make an ante wager or an Aces Up wager before receiving a hand of 5 cards dealt facedown. You can either fold your hand and ante wager or continue playing by making a play wager in the amount at least equal to your ante and up to three times the ante.

Ante and play wagers win 1-1. The player wins all ties. You can win and win big at 4-Card poker in WV.

It's always a party at Mardi Gras!

BONUSES and WAGERS

An automatic bonus is won on your ante wager when you place both an ante and play wager for the following hands:

HAND PAYOUT
Four of a Kind 25-1
Straight Flush 20-1
Three of a Kind 2-1

Automatic bonuses are paid even if the dealer's four card hand is better.

ACES UP WAGER
You have the option of placing an Aces Up side bet to win an additional payout on your best four-card poker hand. If your hand has a pair of Aces or better, you win the Aces Up wager. Payouts for Aces Up wagers are:

HAND PAYOUT
Four of a Kind 50-1
Straight Flush 40-1
Three of a Kind 8-1
Flush 5-1
Straight 4-1
Two Pair 3-1
Pair of Aces 1-1

What to keep in mind about 4-Card Poker:

  • Even if the dealer's hand is better, the Aces Up is always paid.
  • If you bet both the ante (including play) and the Aces Up wager, you are playing against two different pay tables. Each of these tables has a different set of payouts.
  • The object of an ante wager is to get a four-card poker hand that beats the dealer's best four-card hand.
  • In an Aces Up wager, the object is to receive a pair of Aces or better.
  • Ante and Aces Up wagers must be placed before the dealer announces "No more bets."
  • If a hand does not have a pair or better, the hand that has the highest ranking card(s) will win. An Ace is the highest ranking card, except in a 4-3-2-Ace sequence.
  • Every player is responsible for their hand and no one other than the dealer and the player to whom the cards are dealt, can touch the cards of the player.
  • Only players who are sitting at the table are allowed to wager. Once a player places a wager and receives cards, the player must remain seated until that round of play is complete.
